Mercat de l'Olivar

The mother market: Balearic fish, farm sobrassada, and oyster counters between the stalls.

Mon–Fri 07:00–14:30 · Sat to 15:00 · closed SundaysCentroDocumented

The Olivar is Palma’s largest municipal market, and the fish hall alone justifies the walk — the Balearic catch laid out by the boat rather than by the brand. In recent years the building has grown a serious eating side without losing the shopping one.

Do both: buy sobrassada and Mahón cheese to take away, then eat standing at one of the counters in the middle — oysters, sushi, traditional tapas. It closes early in the afternoon, which makes it a morning plan.
