Royal palace
Palau Reial de l'Almudaina
A Moorish alcázar turned royal palace, sharing a wall with the cathedral.
Built over the Muslim alcázar and still the official royal residence in Palma for state ceremonies, the Almudaina is a hybrid: fortress mass, Gothic windows, Mudéjar courtyards. Inside are Flemish tapestries, the great hall, and the Chapel of Santa Ana with its Romanesque-Gothic portal.
Outside, the King’s Gardens below the walls give shade, fountains and the walk down to the sea. It pairs naturally with the cathedral next door — and closes on Mondays, which reshapes a short call.
