Park Güell

Gaudí's mosaic garden on the hillside — timed entry, and the whole city underneath.

El CarmelDocumented

The park Gaudí designed as a failed housing estate and the city inherited as a garden is his vocabulary in the open air: the mosaic dragon, the hall of columns, the undulating bench wrapping the terrace over Barcelona.

The Monumental Zone — about five per cent of the area, and where everything you have seen photographed lives — runs on timed admission and fills geometrically from mid-morning. The honest port-call warning is that the park sits away from the harbour axis, uphill, and stacking it with the Sagrada Família in one day is the classic Barcelona mistake. Prices and seasonal hours publish once confirmed.
