Costa Smeralda
A stretch of Sardinian granite coast built as a resort, and priced like one.
The Costa Smeralda was planned rather than grown: Porto Cervo, its marina and its piazzetta were developed from the 1960s around a set of granite coves. The season used to be July and August alone; September and October are now high season too, which is the most useful thing to know about it.
€1.66 billion in international tourism across Sardinia, from 2.2 million arrivals2023
